Don't bear Christmas alone

We're delighted Pugh’s Garden Village is partnering with us this Christmas to highlight and help tackle loneliness and isolation for older people in Wales.

Pugh's Garden Village will kindly be donating all the profits made from selling their collectable Christmas Pugh Bear and Bear in the Window book to raise vital funds for our telephone befriending service, Friend in Need. They will also be seeking donations from customers who use their Christmas tree cutting and netting service.

To help launch the partnership, Pugh's are inviting older people who are benefitting from our telephone befriending service, and also some of our wonderful volunteers, to visit their Wenvoe and Radyr centres for a chat, free cuppa and mince pie; and, of course, to meet Pugh bear.

Pugh's will also be inviting their staff to join our Friend in Need service whereby they will call an older person who lives alone for a friendship call to help combat loneliness and isolation. Perhaps you too would like to become a Friend-in-Need volunteer?

The money raised by the Christmas campaign is vital. It will make a huge difference - older people in Wales who are lonely and isolated need our help this Christmas.
