Silver Sunday

1200x383_silver_sunday_2.jpgAge UK's Silver Sunday is an annual day of activities and events celebrating older people across the country. Find out more about attending an event or hosting one of your own.

What is Silver Sunday?

Age UK's Silver Sunday is a national day when we can all come together to celebrate older people through free actitives and events hosted across the UK.

In 2023, there were more than 2,000 events that helped bring people together in their community, and offered a chance to not only meet new people but to try a new activity too.

Our ambition has always been to create a day in the nation's hearts where older people feel valued and are given new opportunities to get out of the house, learn new skills, make new friends and connect with the communities and generations around them.

When is Silver Sunday?

Silver Sunday is a national day that takes place on the first Sunday of October each year. This year it's on Sunday 6 October in 2024.

But don't worry if you can't host or attend an event on 6 October. Events can happen at a time that works for you around Silver Sunday.

How can I get involved?

You can be a part of this year's Silver Sunday in two main ways:

I want to attend an event this year
